Terms of service

The conditions for using lovejou.com.

1. Provider and scope

The service available at lovejou.com is provided by Traffic netWorks, represented by Martin Janosik, Speditionstraße 8, 40221 Düsseldorf, Germany ("we").

These conditions apply to use of the service in the version valid at the time the contract is concluded. Differing terms of the user do not become part of the contract.

The service is intended for consumers aged 18 and over.

2. Conclusion of contract

The contract is concluded when you create an account and we have confirmed your email address. There is no entitlement to conclusion of a contract.

Use of the current feature set is free of charge. If paid services are added later, we will clearly state price and term before any booking; no costs arise without an explicit order.

3. Account and shared account

A personal account may only be used by the person who created it. Credentials must be kept secret; if you suspect misuse, please tell us immediately.

A shared account connects exactly two personal accounts. Both people can see, create and delete the shared content. By adding content you deliberately make it visible to the connected person.

The connection is made with an invite code. Only pass that code to the person you want to share the account with.

4. Content and rights

The rights to your content stay with you. You grant us only the technically necessary, non-exclusive right to store and process it and display it to the two of you. That right ends when the content or the account is deleted.

We do not analyse your content, do not use it for advertising and do not pass it to third parties.

You confirm that you will not upload content that infringes third-party rights or breaks applicable law. In particular, you may not upload photos of other people without their agreement.

5. Not a health or counselling service

Love Jou is a self-reflection offering for couples. It is not therapy, not counselling and not a medical device, and it does not replace professional help.

In an acute crisis, under psychological strain or where there is violence in the relationship, please contact a counselling service, seek medical help, or in an emergency call 112. In Germany the helpline for violence against women is 116 016 and the Telefonseelsorge is 0800 111 0 111.

6. Availability and changes

We aim for reliable operation but do not owe any particular level of availability. We announce maintenance where possible.

We may continue to develop the feature set. We announce material reductions at least 30 days in advance by email; in that case you may terminate the contract with effect from the date the change takes effect.

7. Term and termination

The contract runs for an indefinite period. You can delete your account at any time without notice in settings, which ends the contract.

On deletion, the content of the shared account is irreversibly removed as soon as neither person uses the account any more. Please agree this with the connected person beforehand.

We may terminate the contract with 30 days notice. In the event of a serious breach of these conditions we may suspend an account without notice or terminate it without notice period.

8. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence as well as for injury to life, body or health. For simple negligence we are liable only for breach of essential contractual obligations — those whose fulfilment makes proper performance of the contract possible in the first place — limited to the typical, foreseeable damage.

Liability under the German Product Liability Act remains unaffected.

We recommend that you also keep your own copy of content that matters to you.

9. Changes to these conditions

We announce changes to these conditions at least 30 days in advance by email. If you do not object before they take effect, they are deemed accepted; we point out this consequence and your right to object separately in the announcement. If you do object, we may terminate the contract as of the date of the change.

10. Final provisions

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which you are habitually resident remain unaffected.

The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/ We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

Should any provision of these conditions be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions is unaffected.
